Did you see the Daily Show last night?
OK - I know everyone's sick & overworked. And, I have no idea what anyone's political leanings are here, but last night's Daily Show was freaking awesome!
Here's a link, if you missed it & are inclined to watch: http://www.thedailyshow.com/full-episodes/index.jhtml?episodeId=184082
The first segment was OK - just some goofiness, really. But, at about 9:30 into it, Jon just blows the Republicans away with their own words. Pure genius! Especially refreshing for Jim & I, after we pretty much made ourselves sit & watch almost the entirety of Palin's catty little speech.
It is a thing of beauty.

I've Never Seen The Daily Show...
I am, however, a part of a message board that has gone back and forth all day with anti-republican and anti-democrat nonsense all day. Both sides of the spectrum are slinging mud and are pissed. Can't we all just get along?!
Me, I'm just excited that people are feeling emotional about this election. I know that I lean waaaaaaaaaay towards the liberal side (and I mean I'm leaning so far it's a wonder i don't fall over) - but respect that not every one feels that way. BUT, i just hope that all these ppl who are mad and fired up and pissed off to make sure they are registered to vote and exercise their right to be heard on election day...whichever way that may be.
End of soapbox rant.

Jon Stewart is Too Freakin' Hilarious
The videos of the Usual Suspects on the right contradicting themselves was brilliant! The Karl Rove part, with the twin heads, and JS says, "Everytime that pops up, I lose a testicle!" - I almost wet myself laughing. I caught a peek of the Samantha Bee piece for tonight, where's she interviewing Republican women delegates about Bristol Palin is outrageous - Bee doesn't have to say anything, the women reveal their hypocracy for themselves and are scary and hilarious at the same time!
Don't hide your politics on my account! There are more of us in the group too, I discovered!
PS, I was there at the Obama speech in Denver last week! Talk about a thrill!

I'm happy, too, that people are more energized regarding this election. I think that I am more so than ever, too. It would be great if we could all just get along peacefully, but there's so much at stake & so much lying & misinformation out there that can't just be left unchallenged. It's good for so many people to be so excited about exercising our civic duty, taking part in our government as they should. But, it's even better if they are properly informed when they do, take the time to think about & understand it all, before making decisions.
Mama Gretch - did you see this article: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080904/ap_on_el_pr/cvn_fact_check
And, last night's Daily Show was good, too - same old calling out of the lies, but, for some reason this one left me feeling profoundly sad - maybe because it wasn't just auxiliary people lying, but the potential president himself :-(
